Centaur Fabrics is very pleased to be able to
announce the creation of two new fabrics specially woven for Australian
colonial furniture: · Colonial Black · Colonial Antique Black Each of these fabrics has exactly the same weave pattern as a number of samples of early Australian horsecloth taken from c1840 cedar dining room chairs. Each replicates the sheen exhibited by those samples. Colonial Antique Black is the same as Colonial Black, but with one important difference. It has a brown warp to help re-create the faded black colour of original colonial horsecloth that has resulted from the ageing and discolouration of its warp. The same weave can be reproduced in any colour from Centaur’s fabric range that a client chooses The price of each horsecloth is $130 per metre for orders of 10 or more metres; and $150 per metre for smaller quantities.
